A12 Associates is a professional partnership formed in Genoa in 1993 with the name
Gruppo A12. The activities of the group are focused on the themes of
architecture, urbanism and contemporary arts. Gruppo A12 participates
in architectural competitions, works in the fields of architecture,
urban design, visual arts and promotes various cultural activities
trying to mix different knowledge and attitudes. At present, A12
Associates members are: Nicoletta Artuso, Andrea Balestrero, Gianandrea
Barreca, Antonella Bruzzese, Maddalena De Ferrari, Massimiliano
Marchica.

Luigi Di Pasquale was born in Syracuse, Italy in 1979. He graduated in Literature
and History and then went on to study Photography in Rome. After a
period in Australia and New Zealand he studied a Master in Photography
in Milan. He is currently working as a freelance photographer in

Carlo Antonelli is the Director of Rolling Stone Italia. From 1993 to 2003 he was
Director of the label Sugar, for which he has signed Andrea Bocelli,
Elisa and Negramaro. Since 1995 he has been one of the main consultants
for the “Stile Libero” series edited by Einaudi. |

Ramak Fazel was born in Abadan Iran. After having completed his degree in
Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University in Indiana (U.S.A.), he
transferred to New York where he continued his studies in photography
and graphic design. Since 1994 he has been living and working in Milan,
Italy. |

Corrado Beldì was born in Oleggio (Novara) in 1973. He is a music critic for
newspapers and magazines, including “Zero”,” Vogue Italia” and
“Abitare”, and writes the ‘Chiccherie’ column of “Rolling Stone”. He
is also the Art Director of the Novara Jazz Festival. |

Stefano Boeri was born in 1956. At his Milan studio (Boeri Studio), he deals with
city architecture and planning. He is the founder of the research
agency Multiplicity (www.multiplicity.it). He teaches City Planning at
the Politecnico of Milan. He was the editor of “Domus” magazine from
2004 to 2007. From September 2007 he became editor of “Abitare”

Linda Fregni Nagler was born in Stockholm in 1976. She lives and works in Milan. She
graduated at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in 2000. In 2006 she
took a diploma in Cinematographic Photography at the Escuela
International de Cine y Television in San Antonio de Los Baños, Cuba.
She exhibited in solo shows at Viafarini in Milan (2003) and at
fondazione Olivetti in Rome (2006). |

Giacomo Borella was born in Milan in 1964. His fields are architecture and cities. He
is a member of Milan based studio Albori. He also contributes to
various journals and media including “Lo straniero”, Radio Popolare e

Stephen Roach was born in Sydney, Australia.
He left Australia in 1979 and has lived in
various countries in Asia and Europe, but mainly in Italy. He has
exhibited widely and has work in many public and private collections.
He is represented by Andrea Meislin in New York and Conny Dietzschold

Vinicio Capossela,
born in 1965, grew up in Emilia Romagna. He now lives in Milan. Poet
and visionaire, Capossela is a very unique and original figure on the
Italian music scene. His world, made of demons, grace, shadows, lost
souls and losers, revolves around the American underground culture and
the road myth (namely Jack Kerouac, Charles Bukowski and Tom Waits).
Vinicio Capossela is also an outstanding and creative live perfomer. A

Giulio Cappellini was born in Milan in 1954 and graduated in architecture in 1979.
He is in charge of Cappellini images and products as art director and
at times designer. Many Cappellini products are present in the
Permanent collections of main Contemporary Art Musuems. In 2004
Cappellini became part of a group of companies including Poltrona Frau
and Cassina. He is also Art director for the companies Flaminia,
Alcantara and Ridea. He organizes many design events and exhibitions.
He has recently won an award from the French government for the

Tiziana Cardini is a fashion editor and stylist. Fashion Director at “Amica” and
Italian “Glamour”. Style consultant. Now Fashion Director for the new
project @ Rinascente. She is a contributor of Italian “Vogue”. Art and

Pietro Corraini was born in Mantova in 1981. He graduated in Industrial Design at the
Politecnico, and now lives and works in Milan. He is a graphic designer
and director of a magazine called Un Sedicesimo. He also teaches and
runs the Corraini bookshop/office in Milan with his wife Ilaria. |

Roberto Cuoghi was born in Modena in 1973. He lives and works in Milan where he
graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. He has exhibited
at the Berlin Biennial (2006), the Triennale di Torino (2006) and he
was part of the show “Sequence 1” at Palazzo Grassi (2007). In 2008 he
had his first solo show within an institution at Castello di Rivoli in
Turin and at ICA in London. |

Marco Della Torre was born in 1962 in Milan. He spent two years in San Francisco.
Returning to Milan, he set up his studio in 2007. He held a seminar
"Material Art: New Materials and Design Techniques for Large-Scale
Artworks" at MIT in Boston. Since 2006 he has taught a course on
"Theory and Techniques of Exhibit Design" at the University of Venice.
A book documenting his work was published in 2008 by Logos. |

Massimiliano Gioni,
born in the province of Milan, is the Artistic Director of Fondazione
Trussardi and also the Director of Special Exhibitions at the New
Museum, New York where he now lives and works. He curated the 4th
Berlin Biennial (2006) with Maurizio Cattelan and Ali Subotnick, with
whom he also runs the Wrong Gallery and edits the magazines Charley and

Cecilia Fabiani,
a journalist, design critic, academic and designer, is also involved in
trend, exhibitions and collaborates with companies in the furniture
industry. Born in Rome in 1959, she is an Innenarchitektur graduate of

from Domus Academy of Milan. |

Milovan Farronato is an art critic, curator and teaches Contemporary
Art at the IUAV in Venice. He is director of the non-profit space
Viafarini (www.viafarini.org) Milan. He is also contributing editor for
various art publications. He collaborates with the galleria civica di
Modena and is curator of Nicoletta Fiorucci collection. |

Angelo Flaccavento,
born in Ragusa Sicily in 1972. After graduating in History of Applied
Art, he decided with no hesitation to dedicate himself to fashion, his
genuine passion. Since 2001 he has collaborated with various Italian
and foreign magazines - “Uomo Vogue”, “Rodeo”, “Dutch”, “Zoo”, “Tank”,
“D”, “Jc Report” and “Fantastic Man”. |

Mauro Manfrin was born in Milan in 1963. He was the editor of “Spazio & Società”
from 1986 to 2000. He has collaborated with the Politecnico of Milan
and the Architecture Academy of Mendrisio in Switzerland. He has
published pieces in various architectural magazines and participates in

Paolo Marchi was born in Milan in 1955. His mother was a painter and his father a
writer. A chef manqué, he works for the daily newspaper “Il Giornale”.
He is the founder and editor of “Identità Golose”, an international

Cristina Morozzi is a writer, design critic and curator in Milan. She has organized
several exhibitions, among them the design section of The Biennale
giovani in Turin in 2000. Her latest book is on Stefano Giovannoni
edited by Electa (2008). She is visiting professor at schools of design
in Italy and abroad. She has contributed to numerous magazines
including Modo Design magazine where she was editor in chief. She is
currently art director for the Coincasadesign and the new brand Skitsch. |

Steve Piccolo is from New York, now lives and works in Milan and Lugano. He was
co-founder of the Lounge Lizards in New York. He has done soundtracks
for many videos by international artists, teaches "sound design",
curates the "sound of art" pages for Undo.net and writes a monthly
column in the magazine "InSound".

Matteo Ragni,
graduated in Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano. In 1998 he
founded the studio Aroundesign with Giulio Iacchetti. They were awarded
the Compasso d’Oro ADI for the disposable biogradable spork
(spoon-fork) “Moscardino”, now part of the permanent design collection
at MOMA New York. He recently won the Wallpaper Design Award ’08 with
Leti, a table lamp/book end produced by Danese. As well as designer and
teacher, he works as an architect and art director. |

Maurizio Ribotti started his career in 1993 when he founded 361°, a communications
company specializing in integrated marketing solutions for high-end
companies. In 2005 he became a partner and co-managing director at
ZonaTortona and Design-italia, the sector’s first online daily
newspaper. In 2006, he was one of the founder members of the
DesignLibrary. In 2008, he co-founded DesignPartners, the first
integrated group of companies offering services in marketing,
communications and the media, serving international firms that make
design into a strategic asset. |

Beniamino Saibene is one of the founders of esterni, the organization behind the Milano

worked on their store concepts and is currently developing their first

born in Tokyo, is a design journalist. After graduating she moved to
Italy and started writing about design and architecture for Japanese
magazines including “Axis”, “Casa Brutus”, “Confort”, “Elle Deco”,

Paolo Ulian was born in Massa in 1961. He studied Fine Art at Accademia di Belle
Arti di Carrara and then a Diploma in Industrial design at Isia di
Firenze. From 1990 to 1992 he worked with Enzo Mari in
Milan. He won the Design for Europe Award and Design Report Award
and has collaborated with Driade, Fontana Arte, Luminara, Zani &
Zani and Droog Design among others. |

Angela Vettese is president of fondazione bevilacqua, Venice and director of visual
art department of University of Venice IUAV . She collaborates with the
daily newspaper “Il Sole 24 Ore”. She is also the director of the
